With the presidential inauguration happening tomorrow, I want to acknowledge that some students, families and staff are experiencing a heightened level of uncertainty and fear, and that many of our immigrant students and families are seeking support at this time.

As you know, we are a school district that values and celebrates diversity unequivocally. All students and families, regardless of immigration status, are important members of our community and we must ensure that they feel safe and have a sense of belonging in our schools. We have sent an email to all families that underscores this and directs them to resources in the community. The information is available in English, Spanish and will be available in Hmong.

Please review and utilize the following resources to support students and families:

I want to flag that there are several events and protests planned around inauguration day, including events after the early release school day Friday. We don’t anticipate these conflicting with the school day, but we are encouraging parents to talk with their children if they plan to participate after school.

Thank you for your work in supporting our students and families. If you have any questions or need additional support, please reach out.
