In December, several 6th, 7th and 8th grade Crews from Toki worked together to fill shoeboxes with gifts for disadvantaged children and single parents in the Madison area. Student groups spent time, outside of class, purchasing items they thought children and/or parents would enjoy. They then filled a shoebox, wrapped it (for some this was quite the teachable moment!) and sent it off to be delivered to a Madison area family. The project was completely voluntary. The number of students willing to participate, and the significant number of boxes that were filled, speaks to the hearts and character of our Toki students!
