Are you interested in learning to belay for MMSD?

In order to be certified in the district you must attend an introductory training, these last up to 6 hours and are taught over two separate dates. If becoming belay certified for the first time you must attend both dates!

Trainings are open to both employees of MMSD/MSCR and outside volunteers.*

There are two trainings being offered this winter:

East-side belay training:

Dates: January 11 and January 13, 2016

Times: 3:00pm-6:00pm

‚ÄčLocation: Whitehorse/Schenk gyms

West-side belay training:

Dates: February 1 and February 3

Times: 3:00pm-6:00pm

Location: Hamilton MS Gym

If you have been previously certified to belay in the district an annual 'refresher' is required to keep your certification current. This can be done by attending at least one date, practicing your belay skills, and being checked off by completing a proper belay unaided.

REGISTER by e-mailing Emily Peffer at eapeffer@madison.k12.wi.us.

Note: Only employees of MMSD/MSCR can belay at the outdoor challenge courses. Volunteers who are trained can belay at indoor school courses.
