Mindfulness in MMSD, a joint program of the Departments of Human Resources and Student Services, is offering three upcoming courses to support staff well-being. Additional 10-hour courses and Days of Mindfulness for extended practice will be offered throughout the coming school year and next summer. For questions regarding these courses or for inquiries regarding school-based professional development or consultation on mindfulness for staff, contact Sara Parrell at email@example.com.
Day of Mindfulness
On Saturday, October 28, a Day of Mindfulness is scheduled at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center. The intended audience is teachers and other MMSD employees with some base in a personal mindfulness practice. Register here.
Foundations in Mindfulness
Also, a 10-hour Foundations in Mindfulness course (geared toward those with little or no mindfulness practice experience) runs November 28 through December 12. Register on the MMSD PD portal. This offering is open to all MMSD employees.
Afterschool Mindfulness: District-wide Practice Sessions
All MMSD teachers and staff are invited to attend a new mindfulness offering in MMSD for those interested in sustaining a personal practice. A four-week series of group practice sessions at O’Keeffe Middle School will be held. Facilitators will guide practice for the group as well as provided opportunities for short reflections. Some familiarity with mindfulness and/or completion of one mindfulness offering in MMSD is recommended for participation.
Thursdays, 4:00-5:00 pm (10/26, 11/2, 11/9/, 11/16)
The room in OKM holds up to twenty-five (25) participants; please click on this link to add your name to our shared document.
