As the state affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English, WCTE is a community of educators working to improve the teaching and learning of English language arts directly in the state. They provide local professional development opportunities, newsletters, journals and most importantly, the collected wisdom of many of the best teachers in the field.

The convention will be held Oct. 15-16 at the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education. Jeff Wilhelm, founding director of the Boise State Writing Project and prolific author of books about literacy and literacy education, will host a pre-convention workshop and deliver the keynote address. Teachers at all levels from around the state gather at this annual event to take advantage of the resources and networking opportunities available.
