Habitat for Humanity of Dane County is starting a youth program called Youth United. Most people know that Habitat for Humanity builds, simple decent homes in partnership with families in need, but many residents of Madison might not be aware that young people can play a large role in this mission.  The goals of Youth United are to provide leadership roles for young people within our organization, gather a diverse group of kids to work together in a volunteer group, and to engage young people in the mission of Habitat which is to eliminate poverty housing.  We would like to encourage youth from your school to help in this endeavor. This could be anything from helping us start up this group to volunteering to participating in service learning activities within their school. We are in the early brainstorming, planning and implementing stages of this project and would to love to here from any school personnel who would be interested in working with us or know of youth who would love to help! Learn more about Youth United. For additional information or to express interest, contact Erin Birschbach at ebirschbach@habitatdane.org.
